Steps to achieve OHSAS 18001 certification
1. Application for certification
The customer sends to Q.C.B. Italia a request with general characteristics of its organization. With this information Q.C.B. Italia prepares a personalized offer regarding the chosen certification services and sends it back to the customer.
2. Pre-audit “Stage 1”
After the stipulation of the contract the organization will start Pre-audit (Stage 1). This audit consists of an examination of Occupational Health and Safety Management Standard’s documentation and includes a visit in the organization and an interview with the staff involved in activities relevant to Occupational Health and Safety Management Standard. This initial stage permits to both Q.C.B. Italia and customer to discuss about the application of Occupational Health and Safety Management Standard and to determine whether the organization is ready for the initial certification audit. Q.C.B. Italia issues a written report concerning the preparation of the customer for the initial audit.
3. Initial Certification Audit “Stage 2”
During the conclusion of Pre-audit (Stage 1) Q.C.B. Italia agrees with the organization the date for the initial certification audit; Q.C.B. Italia assigns an evaluation team composed by qualified Auditors, that visit the company in order to assess the conformity of Occupational Health and Safety Management StandardOHSAS 18001 and its application in the organizational context. At the end of the audit Q.C.B. Italia issues a detailed written report.
4. Certification
The certification is issued after a positive evaluation of the initial audit. The validity of Q.C.B. Italia certification is subject to surveillance audits (semi annual/annual) that verify continued compliance with OHSAS 18001. Surveillance audits will cover specific points of the norm and, in general, are shorter than the initial certification audit. Q.C.B. Italia is able to perform the certification process integrated with other management systems
